Pablo eyeing Napoli scalp

26th February

Pablo Hernandez insists Swansea can beat "favourites" Napoli when the two sides meet at the Stadio San Paolo tomorrow night.

The Swans arrived in Naples this afternoon ahead of tomorrow evening's Europa League last 32 second leg tie (6pm GMT), on the back of a 0-0 draw at the Liberty last week.

Despite the goalless draw, the Swans dominated proceedings and had numerous chances to give themselves a lead before heading to Naples.

Nevertheless, Hernandez believes that the performance of last week gives the Swans confidence ahead of tomorrow night's game.

"I think the team come here with confidence," said Hernandez. "The first game in Swansea we played really well, controlled possession and had many chances. But if you don't score you don't win.

"I think the favourites are Napoli because they are playing at home.

"In the first game we were better, but they are a big team in Europe and they have played in the Champions League this season.

"Tomorrow isn't easy but we can win. The game tomorrow will be different than the game in Swansea, but I think we have a chance.

"It's a historic game for the club. Playing in Europe is always special, especially playing a game against a big team.

"We need to enjoy this for the fans and the club, but the most important thing is we win to go through to the next round.

"Maybe I can help some players because I have played a lot of games in Europe. Hopefully that experience can help.

During the pre-match press conference, the Spaniard was also asked on how much he is enjoying playing behind the striker - a role Garry Monk has been deploying Hernandez in over recent weeks.

"I like playing in this position," added Hernandez. "I played in this position in the past."

"But the most important thing for me is just to play. This season has not been easy because i have had a lot of injuries.

"It is important for me to keep playing for the remainder of the season and  help the team as much as I can."
