Jonjo Shelvey's stunning 25-yard strike fired the Swans to a hard-fought victory at St Mary's.

The hosts struggled to carve out clear-cut chances throughout and their frustration told when Ryan Bertrand saw red for a late lunge on Modou Barrow.
The defeat saw Saints miss the chance to displace Manchester United in third, while Swansea climbed one place to ninth.

But Swansea were level nine minutes later when Dyer pounced on Maya Yoshida's poor control to find the bottom corner.
The visitors could have won it late on but substitute Itay Shechter was denied by a last-ditch challenge from Daniel Fox.
