Division Three – Saturday, September 20, 2003

The Swans extended their unbeaten home record to five matches with a 2-0 victory over nine-man Huddersfield at the Vetch Field.

In-form striker Lee Trundle opened the scoring shortly after the half-hour mark when he fired home following a Mark Wilson pass to score his ninth goal of the season.

The second half saw Trundle, Andy Robinson and Leon Britton going close to goal as the Swans looked to double their lead.

Victory was sealed for Brian Flynn’s Swans in the 84th minute when Kevin Nugent netted his third of the 2003/04 season.

The Swans would finish the season in 10th place - 15 points off the play-offs.

Division Two – Tuesday, August 31, 1993

Frank Burrows’ Swans continued their unbeaten start to the 1993/94 season with a narrow victory over Huddersfield Town at the Vetch Field.

Former Arsenal midfielder Martin Hayes scored his second goal in a Swans shirt since making the switch from Celtic earlier in the year.

Howeve,, it was another meeting against Huddersfield in the 1993/94 season that went down in the history books. On Sunday, April 24, 1994, Swansea played at Wembley Stadium for the first time in the club’s history following a successful run in the Autoglass Trophy.

The final was taken to penalties where the Swans won 3-1 to bring the Autoglass Trophy back to SA1.

In the league, the Swans finished the 1993/94 season in 13th position on 60 points.

Swansea 3-0 Huddersfield

Division Two – Tuesday, April 20, 1993

Goals from Andy Legg, Mark Harris and Keith Walker helped the Swans bag three points at the Vetch Field in their fourth consecutive victory as they edged towards the Division Two play-offs.

The win marked the Swans’ second victory against Huddersfield in the 1992/93 season as they came out 2-1 victors in September’s fixture at Leeds Road.

After finishing fifth in Division Two, Frank Burrows’ side reached the play-off semi-finals where they faced West Bromwich Albion. However, the Swans were beaten 3-2 on aggregate at the Hawthorns, to send eventual play-off winners West Brom through to the final.
