As Swansea City get set to host Peterborough United on Saturday (3pm), we look back at some previous encounters between the clubs.

Here we recall past clashes in the Championship and a classic EFL Trophy tie.

Swansea City 3 Peterborough United 1 (AET)

EFL Trophy - Tuesday, December 13, 2005

Adebayo Akinfenwa struck twice in extra-time to edge the Swans past Peterborough and book their spot in the EFL Trophy southern area semi-finals.

Normal time provided little to get excited about, with a red card for Peterborough's Paul Carden on 88 minutes the most memorable incident.

Peterborough finally broke the deadlock through Danny Crow's 93rd-minute goal.

Akinfenwa equalised within seconds, and Andy Robinson's close-range strike along with another goal from Akinfenwa secured Swansea's victory.

It proved a key result for the Swans in a season in which they went on to lift the trophy after beating Carlisle in the final in Cardiff.

Championship - Saturday, February 27, 2010.

David Cotterill sent the Swans on their way to victory at the Liberty as his penalty proved the difference against Peterborough.

The Wales international kept his cool from the penalty spot after he was fouled by Charlie Lee, with this result providing the Swans with their 19th clean sheet of the campaign.

The victory was tainted by the injury sustained by Ferrie Bodde, however, with the Dutch midfielder making his first start in six months.
