Pierre Barrieu joins Swansea City's backroom team

15th October

Swansea City manager Bob Bradley has added experienced fitness coach Pierre Barrieu to his backroom team.
Frenchman Barrieu reunites with Bradley, whom he worked under during his time in charge of the US national team and at French club Le Havre.
Barrieu was America's head fitness coach for three World Cups - 2002, 2006 and 2010 - with the team's physical aspect seen as a key attribute in them reaching the quarter-final in South Korea and Japan 14 years ago. He also helped them win two Gold Cups.
The 44-year-old also has further international experience with the United Arab Emirates while at club level he has worked with Championship club Sheffield Wednesday, MLS side LA Galaxy and, most recently, he was a technical instructor for Fifa.
Barrieu, who holds a French Football Federation coaching diploma and a UEFA 'A' Licence, has linked up with the Swans in time for this afternoon's Premier League fixture at Arsenal.
