Swansea City Under-18s kick off their Premier League Cup campaign with a trip to Bristol City on Saturday (11am).

Darren Davies' side bagged their first win of the season against Sheffield Wednesday last time out, as second half goals from Iwan Morgan and Geoff Bony helped the developmental team claim all three points.

The Robins are on fine form as they lead the standings in the southern section of the Professional Development League, after winning their two opening games, including a nine-goal thriller against Hull City.

The young Swans will also face Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle during the round-robin group stage of the competition.

PRE-MATCH VIEWS

Under-18s coach Darren Davies: "The boys would have had a couple days off to relax and see their families, before coming straight back into it.

"We'll review the Sheffield game as there's still elements to work on as a team and as individual players. We'll work on those during the course of the week.

"We'll treat this game like every other game, and at the end of the day, it's more minutes for the lads. We'll look to start our cup campaign with a win."

Bristol City 4 Swansea City 3

A stirring second-half comeback was not enough for 10-man Swansea City Under-18s as they came out on the wrong side of a seven-goal thriller on their last visit to Bristol City.

The Swans went into the break three goals down before conceding a fourth just after half-time.

But a goal and assist from Adrian Akande as well as a goal from Filip Lissah led a fightback that just fell short.
