Swansea City Ladies will be seeking to continue their exemplary form as they make the short trip to Briton Ferry Llansawel at the Old Road (2pm).

At the midway stage of the season Ian Owen’s side sit at the top of the Welsh Premier Women’s League table, three points ahead of second-placed Cardiff City, with a 100 per cent record.

Sunday’s opponents have only picked up one win in the four league games they have played this season, which was a 1-0 victory over newly-promoted Aberystwyth Town.

And, coming into this Sunday’s match after last weekend’s triumph over Cardiff Met, manager Owen says the side are determined to maintain their high standards of performances and results.

While the Swans were 6-1 victors at Briton Ferry last season, there is no chance of them underestimating their opponents.

“It’s a local derby so it won’t be easy but we don’t focus too much on the opposition, we look at ourselves,” said Owen.

“The team need to concentrate and adapt to what’s in front of them and just take each game as it comes.

“We need to remain consistent and keep this run going.”
