Preview | Cardiff City Women v Swansea City Women

Swansea City Women will look to continue their unbeaten start to the season when they face defending Genero Adran Premier champions Cardiff City Women at Cardiff City Stadium this afternoon (2pm).
The Swans have won their two league games so far this season without conceding; beating Barry Town United 4-0 away from home before seeing off Aberystwyth Town 2-0 at Llandarcy.
Cardiff, meanwhile, lost to The New Saints on the opening weekend, but have responded with emphatic wins over Briton Ferry Llansawel and Barry Town United.
Pre-match views

Swansea City Women head coach, Yzzy Taylor: “We have been able to prepare really well this week and it’s been huge for us to get the majority of the squad minutes over the last few weeks. However, we’ve been able to get additional players back in the squad this weekend as well, which we are really excited about.
“We know the challenges that Cardiff will bring but we also know the quality, the fight and the togetherness we can bring to the game as Swansea City this weekend.
“We have started really well and have definitely shown how robust we can be out of possession but matched that with being able to show our creativity in possession. Combining these both have made for a positive start and we will be looking to continue improving throughout the season and especially into the weekend.
“It will be a great occasion for us as a group and it’s one that we are looking forward too. As always getting to play matches in these stadiums is special for all involved but the fact it’s a south Wales derby really adds that extra spark to it.
“We are looking forward to seeing our friends, family and fans at the Cardiff City Stadium this weekend and we will be looking forward to putting on a performance that everyone can be proud of.”
Previous meeting
Swansea City Women suffered a first defeat of 2025 as they were beaten at Genero Adran Premier leaders Cardiff City on their last visit to face the Bluebirds.
Following an even first half with chances for both sides, it would be the Bluebirds who would score the only goal of the game as Lily Billingham powered a shot past Charlie Haynes.
The Swans looked for a way back into the game, with Chloe Chivers going the closest, but it wasn’t to be for the visitors.
