Swansea City Women are back on the road this afternoon as they travel to Leckwith to face Cardiff City Women for the second time in a week (2pm kick-off).

The Swans will be looking to respond following last weekend’s 2-1 Genero Adran Premier defeat to their rivals, in a match where they controlled large spells but were unable to convert their chances.

Cardiff, meanwhile, will be aiming to maintain their position at the top of the Genero Adran Premier, with just one point separating them and Wrexham, while Swansea sit eight points behind the leaders.

Yzzy Taylor’s side will be determined to finish the season strongly and will be targeting a first victory against one of the top two, with a Bute Energy Welsh Cup final against today’s opponents also to come in April.

Yzzy Taylor

Head coach Yzzy Taylor: "It's another big south Wales derby and one we’re really looking forward to. Despite the result last weekend, there were a lot of positives in the performance.

"I thought the players showed real intensity, discipline, and quality in key areas. If we bring that same level again, we’ll give ourselves a strong platform going into Sunday.

"We’ve been creating chances consistently, which is really encouraging, but against the top sides you have to be clinical. If we can do that, performances will turn into the results we want.

"Our away form has been a real strength, and it’s something we want to continue. Starting on the front foot is key - we saw last week how effective that can be. We want to be aggressive, set the tempo early, and impose our style on the game. If we do that, we put ourselves in a strong position."

Last time out - 15th March 2026

Swansea City Women suffered a narrow south Wales derby defeat as they were beaten 2-1 by Cardiff City at Llandarcy Academy of Sport in the Genero Adran Premier.

The Swans took a well-deserved lead into half-time, with captain Jess Williams on hand to convert from close range after Chloe Chivers’ free kick had crashed against the crossbar.

Chances continued to fall to Swansea to extend their advantage, but Cardiff found their way back into the contest when a superb cross-field ball from Lily Billingham picked out Mikayla Cook, who slotted through the legs of Amelia Forkings to equalise.

Cook then added a second just four minutes later, as her delivery from a corner took a deflection off the back of Lucy Finch and found its way past Forkings into the net.

Yzzy Taylor’s side continued to push for an equaliser, but were unable to convert their chances - a rarity for a team that had scored 40 goals in their previous seven matches across all competitions - as the visitors held on to claim all three points.
