Preview | Cardiff Met v Swansea City Ladies
Swansea City Ladies come up against Cardiff Met today in the quarter-finals of the Genero Adran Trophy (2pm).
Today’s clash at the Cyncoed Campus is the first fixture for the Swans since their 6-0 win away at Wrexham on December 19, which booked their spot in the next round of the competition.
Met secured their position in the last eight of the Adran Trophy with an emphatic win over Llandudno.
Chris Church’s side are hoping to keep hold of the trophy following last season’s success in the competition.
Pre-match views
Chris Church: “It is a big game and one that I am looking forward to because we all know what happened last time (in the league).
“Cardiff Met have been in a good run of form, having played two games in the last few weeks while we haven’t, we have trained at a really intense level.
“They will be hoping that we are off the pace, and we won’t be. The players are too good for that, and they are relishing the challenge.
“We don’t want to defend the trophy, we want to attack it because that is the nature of this club and it is the nature of what we do here.”
Remember the last time?
The Swans defeated Cardiff Met in the Genero Adran Premier with a 3-0 win at the end of October.
Swansea were in command at half time courtesy of a Shaunna Jenkins header and Stacey John-Davis calmly added a second.
John-Davis rounded off a great afternoon for the Swans at Llandarcy with a superb run, taking on multiple Met defenders, before finishing well to cap a fine win.
