Swansea City Under-21s face Norwich City in the quarter-finals of the Professional Development League play-offs at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon (1pm).

Please note, this fixture will be played behind closed doors at the home side's request.

The Swans secured a fourth-place finish in the final league table, with the top eight advancing to a newly-introduced play-off schedule between the PDL and Premier League 2.

The Swans progressed to this stage following their 2-0 victory over Newcastle United in the last 16 at the Swansea.com Stadium on Monday.

Norwich, meanwhile, sealed their win in the previous round with two goals in extra time against Sheffield United; securing a 3-1 win over the Blades.

Pre-match views

Anthony Wright: "We're really excited by this draw as it's a team, again, we haven't come up against in a long time.

"It's a long trip, and we'll have a quick turnaround but that'll be a test and learning for the boys. But we'll prepare as we always do, and hopefully get a place in the semi-finals."

Brandon Cooper

Norwich City 0 Swansea City 1

Brandon Cooper’s sensational first-half strike was enough to ensure Swansea City Under-23s got their Premier League 2 Division 2 season off to a winning start against Norwich City.

The defender, who started the game at left-back, netted the winner after 36 minutes at Colney Training Centre as coaches Cameron Toshack and Gary Richards saw their young guns make the perfect start to the campaign.

Cooper cut inside from the left flank and fired home from 25 yards, with Canaries keeper Archie Mair left helpless.

The Swans had chances to extend their lead, with the lively Jordon Garrick proving a constant menace out wide before he was replaced at the break.

Norwich were reduced to 10 men just past the hour mark as Saul Milovanovic was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card within three minutes of his first.

The visitors then saw out the remainder of the game and kept their clean sheet intact as they headed home with three deserved points.
