Preview | Swansea City v Nottingham Forest

11th December
First team

Swansea City will look to return to winning ways against Nottingham Forest following two consecutive Championship defeats.

Losses to Reading in SA1 and at Middlesbrough meant the Swans tasted back-to-back defeats under Russell Martin for the first time.

They take on a Forest side completely rejuvenated under former Swans boss Steve Cooper, who has tasted defeat just once in his 13 games in charge.

Team news

There are no injury concerns for head coach Martin, who saw a large number of his first-team squad bank valuable minutes in a midweek friendly with Brentford B. With several players gaining praise for the Swans boss, they will no doubt have strengthened their cause for inclusion.

Pre-match views

Russell Martin: “It’s going to be a really interesting game. They’ve been on a really good run since Steve Cooper took over. We’ll have to get back on it at some point and there’s no better place to do it than at home.

“They’ve become very hard to beat and break down. They’ve kept a lot of clean sheets and they have good players at the top end of the pitch."

Steve Cooper: "I'm looking forward to the game and I'm just focused on that. I am very grateful for my two years at Swansea and what it gave me and how I was treated.

"That will never change. But in terms of the game on Saturday, it's a game we are very much in the normal preparation mode for."

Forest home Connor Roberts goal

Remember the last time?

It proved a tight encounter in SA1 last season, but the Swans emerged victors thanks to Connor Roberts' late header - his second winning goal against Forest in that campaign.
