Record turnout for Celebrity match

2nd June

Another record was broken at the Liberty Stadium on Sunday as more than 10,000 supporters turned out for the celebrity match to raise funds for SwansAid.
Organised in conjunction with Sellebrity Soccer, a host of celebs flocked to south west Wales for the event.
Eastenders actors Adam Woodyatt and Danny Dyer captained the two sides, with the likes of X-Factor winner Shayne Ward, TOWIE star Dan Osborne, boxer Nathan Cleverly and the Call Centre's Nev Wilshire all featuring.
There was also a Liberrty return for two fans favourites as Lee Trundle and Adrian Forbes ran out in front of the home crowd once again, while Chairman Huw Jenkins donned the goalkeeper gloves to take his place in the sticks for the home side.
And in an entertaining affair, Adam Woodyatt's team ran out 14-12 winners in a scoreline that would have been likened to an Ospreys rugby fixture!
Huw Jenkins was chipped twice in the opening period - either side of making some impressive stops - with Danny Dyer's side fighting back from 5-1 down to level the scores at the break.
Arguably the goal of the half was scored by Trundle as Magic Daps waltzed his way past a number of players, including the goalkeeper, before slotting home and enjoying the adulation of the home crowd once again.
The goals continued in the second period as Nathan Clevely and Soccer AM's Franky Fyer netted five times apiece, but the loudest cheer was saved for last as Danny Dyer ran from the halfway line to score a penalty as fellow skipper Adam Woodyatt took his place in goal for the last kick of the game.
But it was the attendance figure of 10,567 that set a new record for the organisers, with all the proceeds going to charity.
However, it wasn't just on the field events that struck a chord with supporters who attended on Sunday.
There was a fun fair in operation outside the stadium with face painting for the kids, fans were treated to live performances from X-Factor's Rough Copy and local musician John Adams, while there was also a football freestyle show prior to kick-off.
