Swansea City’s wing-backs have been an integral part of a fine start to the season, and Steve Cooper has been deeply impressed by the relentless work-rate of his wide men.

Connor Roberts and Jake Bidwell have already produced a goal and six assists between them so far this term, while Ryan Manning also looked sharp on his debut against Stoke City.

Roberts and Bidwell have relished the wing-back roles they were handed by a switch of system in the wake of the resumption of football in June, and head coach Cooper

“We left Bidders out of one game and Ryan Manning came in and did well. I think we've got really good options in that part of the pitch," he said.

"Connor is a ridiculous athlete if I'm being honest. He could play one day and then play again tomorrow and hit the same numbers.

"We don't worry about his legs too much, even though he gets through a lot of games for us and is then away with Wales.

"He's a little bit in a category of his own, and Bidders isn't far behind him either, which is a credit to how professional they are.

"I think we're looking fit at the moment, and I think that's really important at this stage of the season, but going forward as well because, after the international break, there's so many games.”
