Report | Afan Lido 0 Swansea City U21s 5

Swansea City Under-21s eased their way to the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup with a convincing 5-0 win over JD Cymru South side Afan Lido at Glenhafod Park Stadium.
First-year scholar Kai Rhodes bagged a brace and an assist, whilst skipper Dan Watts and Josiah Kallicharan were also on the scoresheet for the Swans. An own goal Afan Lido's Jak Carson rounded off the scoring.
Swansea saw most of the ball in the opening stages, pressing forward well through Rhodes and Ramon Rees-Siso, and Watts saw two well-taken shots blocked from inside the box as Lido defended in numbers.
Rees-Siso and Pescatore were next to test the Lido goal, Ben Haines gathered a shot from the midfielder before Pescatore smashed a low strike wide of the near post.
Haines was also on hand to deny the Swans an opener from the spot in the 35th minute, pushing away Pescatore's penalty after a handball in the area.
Two minutes later, Swansea made up for the disappointment to deservedly take the lead. Rhodes latched on to a pass down the left, cut inside and struck a lovely ball into the far corner to put the Swans ahead at the break.
The young Swans started the second period like the first, well in control, and were rewarded with two goals inside the opening 15 minutes.
Sixteen-year-old Rhodes turned provider this time for Watts, and the skipper made no mistake to find the target with a low-driven strike to put the Swans two goals to the good.
The third goal came just six minutes later, Kallicharan - who replaced an injured Morgan Bates in the first half - beat the offside trap, working his way goalward before finding the net with a composed finish to round off a wonderful team move.
Rhodes continued to be a threat and claimed a second goal of his own when a Callum Deacon lay-off put him well clear to steer home to complete his brace, and cap off a fantastic performance from the youngster.
The fifth and final goal came from Lido's Carson, who turned the ball into his own net after a Harlan Perry challenge down the right ricocheted the ball into the area.
