Swansea City Ladies leapfrogged Cardiff Met at the top of the Genero Adran Premier table with a commanding win at Llandarcy.

The defending champions took a well-deserved 2-0 lead into the break after Shaunna Jenkins scored her second goal of the season against Met, while Stacey John Davis produced a calm finish.

John-Davis then completed her brace - and sealed all three points - with just over 10 minutes left after a superb individual run.

The Swans started with intent, and it led to an early chance for Rhianne Oakley, but Cardiff Met keeper Anabel Sweeney was able to close the angle down and make the save.

Met responded with an opportunity of their own with Grace Corne getting a shot off in a crowded penalty area, however, Claire Skinner reacted quickly to parry it away to safety.

Oakley looked lively and charged down Jessie Taylor’s clearance and squared the ball to John-Davis in the box, but her attempt on goal was blocked.

Jenkins then opened the scoring after the defender got on the end of Kelly Adams cross and hit the bar, but she made no mistake heading home the rebound.

Soon after, Oakley dispossessed Stephanie Turner and broke on her own but Sweeney came out quickly to prevent a second Swansea goal.

But Swansea put themselves fully in command just before half-time. Tija Richardson slotted a pass through to John-Davis who coolly placed the ball past the goalkeeper.

Jenkins forced Sweeney into tipping the ball over the bar from a tight angle at the start of the second half as the hosts continued to press.

The Swans were looking dangerous with a series of half-chances being created.

The threat grew as the second half progressed as Richardson got her head onto the end of Katy Hosford’s corner, but she could only turn the attempt wide of the far post.

But the lead was increased by John-Davis after she took on multiple Met defenders and found the top corner.
