Josh Pescatore brings the ball down for Swansea

Swansea City Under-18s suffered defeat against table-toppers Bristol City in their Professional Development League clash at Landore.

The visitors took the lead in the first half when Josh Campbell-Slowey converted from a corner-kick. The Swans had chances through Sammy Henia-Kamau, Rohan Davies and Yori Griffith but were unable to make them count.

Instead, Bristol doubled their lead just beyond the hour mark, Callum Hewlett slotting home from the spot.

The visitors sealed the three points with two goals in the final 10 minutes as substitutes Rushon Walker and Brandon Bak slotted home their third and fourth goals of the afternoon respectively.

Ewan Griffiths had replaced Kit Margetson in goal for the Swans - with the latter having featured for the under-21s in their 1-1 draw against Aston Villa last night.

Seb Dabrowski and Henia-Kamau were handed their first starts as the pair returned from injury.

The visitors had the first chance of the game as Raekwon Nelson's half-volley was inches away from finding the top corner of the net after a dipping delivery from Max Davies.

The Swans were seeing the majority of the possession, and Aimar Govea's strong run down the left saw him get the ball to Henia-Kamau, who drove infield before firing straight straight at the keeper, before Joseph Duncan kept out Griffith's rebound.

But it was Bristol City who took the lead as a corner resulted in a goalmouth scramble and Campbell-Slowey was on hand to fire home from close range.

Bristol started the second period on the front foot with Nelson causing trouble again, and they had a few half-chances from set-pieces without testing the Swansea keeper.

Davies and Ramon Rees-Siso were introduced after the restart, and the duo were instantly involved.

They combined well on a counter attack and Davies looked set to level, only for the offside flag to deny him.

And the visitors would make the most of the let off but and extended their lead from the penalty spot as skipper Hewlett sent his spot-kick straight down the middle.

Riley Phillips then drew a great save from Griffiths after a misplaced ball sent the forward through on the Swansea goal.

Bristol were firmly on top and substitute Walker added a third, finishing with a chip following a mazy run through a wall of white shirts.

The Swans fate was sealed with five minutes of normal play left. Bak - who scored the winner for the Robins in the reverse fixture in December - netted the fourth of the afternoon from the edge of the area.
