Robyn Pinder | It was a frustrating game

Swansea City Women's forward Robyn Pinder was frustrated to round off the Genero Adran Premier season with a goalless draw, but believes a challenging run of fixtures will stand them in good stead for the future.

The Swans drew 0-0 at Aberystwyth Town on Sunday, the first time they had played out a scoreless league fixture since drawing with the same opponents in December 2021.

Chloe Chivers and Katy Hosford went closest for the visitors but they were unable to break the deadlock.

Pinder was disappointed not to have a victory to take into this forthcoming weekend’s Genero Adran Trophy final against Cardiff City, but hopes a series of short turnarounds between recent games will mean the Swans are battle-hardened ahead of the showpiece.

“It was a frustrating game, I thought we were good in spells, but they were difficult to break down,” said Pinder.

“It was a really physical game, it’s a frustrating way to end the league season for us, but luckily we have another game Sunday to put that right and end the campaign on a high.

“We’ve had a really busy run of games lately and we’ve been looking to manage everyone’s minutes.

“It’s been nice for everyone to get a run out and get through this spell without too many injuries, ready for the game next week.

“It’s good to have the young players involved as well, we want them in training with us regularly and to get them more minutes next season.

“They’ve had a tough challenge being thrown in at the deep end, they’ve done really well, the under-19s had a great result against Cardiff at the weekend too, so it’s great to see that.

“We don’t have the biggest squad so the schedule has been a challenge. We need that momentum heading into the final, so hopefully having everyone getting minutes will be a boost.”
