Joe Rodon is looking to complete a whirlwind few months with a first senior Wales cap after being called up by national boss Ryan Giggs.

The Swans centre-back was rewarded for his consistent performances under Graham Potter by being included in Wales’ squad after Newcastle’s Paul Dummett withdrew through injury.

The academy product, who hails from Llangyfelach, is now hoping to play some part in the friendly with Spain and the Uefa Nations League clash with the Republic of Ireland.

“It’s a massive opportunity and one that I’m very grateful for. Hopefully, it will be a good week for us,” said Rodon.

“Everything has come thick and fast over the past couple of months. I’m really grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given. It’s what every young boy dreams of.

“Obviously, Ryan was a great player. Working under him this week is going to be a massive experience for me. Hopefully, I can do well and grab the opportunity with both hands.

“I’m just going to take every day as it comes and enjoy the experience.”
