Ryan Blair Swansea City Under-23s PL Cup

18th March

Ryan Blair expressed his delight with his first goal of the season as Swans Under-23s booked their place in the Premier League Cup quarter-final following a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at Landore.
Blair's header opened the scoring before winger Daniel James doubled the young Swans' advantage on the stroke of half-time .
A hamstring injury forced Blair to miss the cup victory over Bristol City before the Premier League 2 Division 2 title win against Wolves earlier this week.
But the 21-year-old is ready to play his part in the U23s' finish to the campaign, which sees them chasing more silverware in two cup competitions.

"It was hard to watch the Wolves game and not be involved on Monday. I am just delighted the lads got the point we needed to get it over the line," said Blair.
"I am back now, I feel fit and fine and I am raring to go for the rest of the campaign, which I hope will bring more success.
"Goals from a holding midfielder like myself are rare, so I am just happy to chip in and play a part in the victory.
"We are delighted to reach the quarter-final of this competition. The aim is to go as far as we can and hopefully win it.
"Apart from Wimbledon's first-team at the start of the season, I don't feel we have played against a team that have been better than us.
"We have shown we are more than capable of dealing with knock-out football. We are continuing to grow and develop as a group.
"Porto next week in the International Cup will bring a different challenge and one we must be ready for."
