Ryan Manning hopes Swansea City can continue to build on performances as he prepares to return to his former club when the Swans face Queens Park Rangers this evening (7.45pm).

The Republic of Ireland international netted his second goal of the season in Saturday’s victory over Preston North End with a moment of magic to seal the three points for Russell Martin’s side.

The 25-year-old now hopes the Swans can use the performance as a springboard as they play their first of three fixtures within eight days at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

“Now we have got that win we want to go on a run of results,” said Manning.

“This was something we needed and hopefully we can put a good sequence of results together now to climb the table.

“The Southampton game was the first game back after Covid and it was a good performance but we leaked three goals and we were missing that bit of match sharpness.

“We put in a performance over 70 minutes in the Huddersfield game and we were unlucky not to get another one and nick that.

“Saturday’s game against Preston was all about building on the two previous performances and that’s all coming together now. Hopefully we can add to that again on Tuesday at QPR and get a positive result.”

Tonight's trip to West London could see the defender making his first appearance at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium after he made the switch from the Hoops to SA1 in October 2020.

“I’m looking forward to it, it’s obviously going to be a tough test because they’re flying at the moment and are picking up good results,” he added.

“It will be a tough game but we’re just going to keep to our game plan, go in and hopefully put in a good performance and pick something up on the road.”
