Saturday Stats: Newcastle v Swans

19th April

Saturday means it's time for some statistics as we look ahead to the Swans' fixture with Newcastle United at St James' Park (3pm).
With the focus on today's clash with the Magpies, we take a look at the game via a statistical view.

Newcastle
Alan Pardew's side have lost their last four league games, while they have tasted defeat in seven of their last ten top-flight matches.
Only four teams - Sunderland, Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich - have conceded more goals in the Premier League than Newcastle (52).
Loan striker Loic Remy has scored just over one third of Newcastle's goals this season in the top flight, with the Frenchman netting 13 of the team's 38 goals.

Swans
The Swans have picked up nine points in their last ten league matches courtesy of two wins and three draws.
Garry Monk's side have scored the most goals (45) amongst the sides in the bottom half of the table, while they have seven more than ninth-placed Newcastle and tenth-placed Stoke.
The Swans are looking to claim their first away win in the league since the 2-1 victory at Fulham in November.

Head-to-head
The Swans ran out convincing winners when the sides met at the Liberty in December. Nathan Dyer, a Mathieu Debuchy own goal and Jonjo Shelvey's strike wrapped up a comfortable 3-0 victory.
Newcastle are yet to beat the Swans on home soil in the Premier League in two encounters. The Magpies were held to a 0-0 draw in the 2011-12 campaign before goals from Michu and Jonathan de Guzman sealed a 2-1 win over the Swans last season in the North East.
