Selection boost for Carvalhal

Carlos Carvalhal insists his team selection for Tuesday’s clash with Arsenal has been boosted following the FA cup clash with Notts County.

The Swans boss made eight changes from the starting XI which beat Liverpool earlier this week as his side drew 1-1 at Meadow Lane.

One of those changes – Luciano Narsingh – struck the opening goal while the likes of fit-again Tammy Abraham and Kyle Bartley picked up valuable game-time.

Despite seeing Renato Sanches limp off just past the half-hour mark with a hamstring injury – which is expected to rule him out against the Gunners – Carvalhal was happy with what he saw from the players who were given a chance to impress.

“We put a lot of players in who have not been involved in games recently,” said the Swans boss.

“Most of the players will be ready to play against Arsenal on Tuesday, which is good for my selection.

“They have got some minutes, and that will help them come into selection for Tuesday.”
