SOCIAL MEDIA: High praise for Swans after United triumph

The Swans continued their fine start to the season last Sunday with a memorable 2-1 victory over Manchester United at the Liberty Stadium.

It was the third time in succession that Swansea had beaten Louis van Gaal's side, with second-half goals from Andre Ayew and Bafetimbi Gomis sealing the three points after Juan Mata had put the visitors ahead.

Meanwhile, Sunday's clash saw a number of former players, journalists and pundits take to social media to praise Garry Monk's side for their performance.

The Telegraph's chief sports writer Paul Hayward had kind words for the Swans, former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand singled out Swans skipper Ashley Williams for praise and Match of the Day host Gary Lineker was also impressed by Garry Monk's side.
