SOCIAL MEDIA REACTION: Chelsea v Swans
10th August 2015
The Swans kicked off their fifth season in the Barclays Premier League with an impressive 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Saturday's opening-day clash saw a number of former players, journalists and statisticians take to social media to praise Garry Monk's side for their performance against the reigning champions.
Former Chelsea defender Mario Melchiot and Daily Mirror football correspondent John Cross singled out winger Jefferson Montero for special praise, while Swansea-born pundit and former Wales international John Hartson believes the Swans can replicate last season's exploits...
Well played Swansea today. Played with no fear. Obviously the sending off effected the game but looked a good decision to me

Great point for Swansea.. On today's evidence they could push on from last season.. Difficult but more than capable of doing it. #jacks

Montero is subbed. Ivanovic breaths a huge sigh of relief. He's ripped him to shreds.

Swansea look a very muscular team these days. Nothing wrong with combining the Welsh Arsenal with Welsh rugby. Amazing club.

2 - Garry Monk's Swansea are the first away team to score twice at Stamford Bridge in the PL since they did so last September. Habit.

I haven't seen a lot of player giving ivanovic a hard time but #Montero is doing a great job. Full of tricks and pace. #mmlove#CFC
