Swansea City Women’s forward Stacey John-Davis was delighted to be able to get back on the scoresheet with two goals in the Genero Adran Trophy, but felt progression in the cup was of the greatest importance.

John-Davis netted twice in her side's 13-0 victory on the road at Llandudno Ladies to progress to the quarter-finals of the competition.

The forward was delighted to be back among the goals for her side after a challenging start to the campaign following a shoulder injury in the opening game at Wrexham, but she is hopeful her brace will provide a platform to keep scoring.

However, while individual achievements are nice, her main focus remains on helping the Swans be competitive across all competitions this season.

“I’m obviously really happy to get on the scoresheet, but the main thing for me was always getting through to the next round of the cup,” said John-Davis.

“We came into the season aiming to win all three trophies and as it stands we are still in all three and competing really well.

“A cup run is obviously really good for us, so everyone is really happy at the moment.

“The two goals for me are a good confidence boost, it’s been a bit of a tough comeback from the injury.

“To get a few goals on the scoresheet, start hitting the back of the net, helps build the confidence and hopefully that can develop over the next couple of weeks.

“We don’t go into any games underestimating anyone, the football standards in Wales are really high, we have our standards and know how we want to play, so we will keep this same mentality moving forward."
