Stats: Swans v Brighton

4th November
First team

It’s time for some statistics as we look ahead to the Swans’ first ever Premier League clash with Brighton at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon (3pm).

The Swans will be looking to bounce back from last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Ahead of the game, we’ve taken a look at the match from a statistical perspective.

Swans

0 – The Swans have never played Brighton in the Premier League. Their last league meeting came on the final day of the 2007-08 League One season. The Swans won that game 1-0 at the Withdean Stadium.

39 – Lukasz Fabianski has made more saves than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League this season.

14 – Fabianski has also made more high claims than any other goalkeeper in the Premier League this season, one more than Brighton’s keeper Mathew Ryan.

28 – Jordan Ayew has been tackled more times than any other player in the Premier League this term.

129 – Swansea City players have been tackled 129 times in the Premier League this season. Only Crystal Palace players have been tackled more often (141 times).

71 – Tammy Abraham has been directly involved in 71 per cent of the Swans’ seven Premier League goals this season – the highest ratio of any player in the league.

Brighton

4 – The Seagulls have lost four of their last five meetings with the Swans in all competitions since a 3-2 win in League One in December 2006.

9 – Brighton are winless in their last nine away league games in Swansea, since winning 1-0 in November 1992.

2 – Brighton will be looking to record back-to-back away victories in the top flight for only the second time. The last time they did this was in April 1981 when they won at Crystal Palace and Sunderland.

5 – Summer signing Pascal Gross (above) has scored two and assisted five of Brighton’s 10 league goals. Only six players have provided more assists in their first 10 Premier League appearances than Gross – Lee Sharpe, David Ginola, Arjen Robben, Mesut Ozil, Angel Di Maria and Dusan Tadic (each with six).

31 – Brighton’s Dale Stephens has made 31 tackles so far this season. Only four players have made more tackles than him in the Premier League.

93 – Defender Shane Duffy has made more clearances than any other player in the Premier League so far this term.

3 – Brighton have made more goalline clearances than any other side in the Premier League so far this season.
