Swans 3 QPR 0

Swansea City cruised to their biggest win under Graham Potter as Queens Park Rangers were beaten 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium.

Courtney Baker-Richardson’s first senior goal got the ball rolling for the Swans in the first half.

And Potter’s side got their rewards for a dominant display in the latter stages as Connor Roberts claimed his first Swans goal before Jay Fulton rounded off a comprehensive win.

With Erwin Mulder claiming a fifth clean sheet of the season, there was plenty for Potter’s men to be pleased about.

The Swans were actually a little slow out of the blocks, and Rangers carved the first chance of the day when Luke Freeman squared for Massimo Luongo but he shot just wide from the edge of the box.

The home side responded, and took the lead with their first chance of any note on 16 minutes.

Kyle Naughton crossed from the right and Oli McBurnie did well to head the ball down for Baker-Richardson, who hooked the ball home with his left foot from close range.

The former Leamington striker almost had a second within a couple of minutes but, with the goal gaping, he lifted over from Roberts’s centre.

Freeman then forced a first save of the day from Erwin Mulder before Baker-Richardson came close again.

Tom Carroll nicked possession as Rangers midfielder Ebere Eze dallied in his own box, helping the ball to Baker-Richardson.

This time he drilled the ball goalwards but Rs keeper Joe Lumley made a smart save.

The second half began with the Swans on the front once more.

Bersant Celina twice tried his luck from range but lifted both efforts over the top.

A rare Rangers attack saw Nahki Wells volley over, then George Byers rifled a 20-yard effort just wide of the post.

The Swans’ control meant they were worthy of a second goal, and it eventually came with 14 minutes remaining.

Carroll was heavily involved, stepping away from a couple of challenges before rolling the ball across the edge of the box to substitute Fulton.

The Scot might have shot, but instead he helped the ball on again for Roberts on the right.

The Welsh international stepped inside one challenge before firing the ball home with his left foot.

The Swans were not finished.

Seven minutes from the end, Roberts played a smart ball forward for McBurnie who in turn played a clever pass to Fulton.

This time he took the chance to shoot, and his effort ricocheted over the helpess Lumley and into the net.
