Paul Clement hopes Swansea City will give their fans something to shout about when they go in search of a first home win of the season against Huddersfield this weekend.

And Clement has fingers crossed that the Jack Army will play a part as the Swans look to get off the mark at the Liberty in 2017-18.

Clement’s men have lost their three home games to date this season, against Manchester United, Newcastle and Watford.

But the Swans boss feels his team are not far away from a change of fortune – and hopes they can deliver for their supporters on Saturday.

“I am hoping we can play well and that will lift the spirits of our crowd and they will then get behind us,” Clement said.

“I know we have a fantastic set of passionate supporters. I am hoping they will really get behind the team this weekend because it’s a massive help.

“They can be the 12th man – they can lift us if we are tiring or we are going through a difficult spell in the game.

“But I also understand that it’s easier for fans to get behind the team if they are seeing something they approve of on the pitch.

“We will do our best to give them something to enjoy.”
