Swans to assess Michu injury

4th October

The Swans will assess Michu's head injury before deciding whether the Spaniard will be part of Michael Laudrup's plans for Sunday's trip to Southampton (1.30pm).
Michu needed seven stitches in his head following a challenge by St Gallen's Stephane Besle in the Europa League Group Stage tie at the Liberty on Thursday night, which the Swans won 1-0 courtesy of Wayne Routledge's second-half strike.
The midfielder was off the field for eight minutes, and such was the flow of blood that he used six different shirts before returning to the pitch following treatment from the physio team.

Two of those shirts had to be printed in the kit room during half-time as the others in stock had the Barclays Premier League logo - not the Europa League badge - on them.
Then Michu, patched up with Vaseline over his wound, played his part as the Swans made it two wins from two in Group A.
The Swans will now have to decide whether Michu will need to wear protection over his stitches as they consider his inclusion for Sunday's trip to St Mary's.
But the 27-year-old insisted that he won't be pulling out of any similar challenges despite this latest injury.
"I always want to win the ball for my team, no matter if it hurts because I want to score," said Michu. "It did hurt quite a bit - the fact is he caught me on my head with his studs and I was angry because I thought it was a penalty.
"But I don't think about what will happen to me. I am not special, I just want to do whatever I can for my team-mates.
"The blood kept getting onto my shirt every time I put a new one on when I was on the sideline, and because of where it was on my head the bandages just wouldn't hold.
"So the physios put Vaseline on it to stop the bleeding until half-time and then I had stitches put in.
"For Sunday, I will need to wear something to play because the wound will re-open if I head the ball or there's contact in that area of my head."
Seeing the light-hearted side of his injury, Michu joked: "I have had so many showers to get the Vaseline out of my hair - I can't get it out though.
"There was a lot of it used because the cut is quite big on my head. I think I could have 100 showers and it would still be the same."
