Swans can build from promising display, says Sigurdsson

4th October

Gylfi Sigurdsson believes the Swans' display against Tottenham Hotspur will give them a platform to build from after the international break.
Garry Monk's side kept their unbeaten home record in tact following a 2-2 draw with Tottenham, who came from behind on two occasions at the Liberty.
It proved a thrilling encounter, with Federico Fernandez seeing his later header tipped onto the crossbar by Hugo Lloris as the Swans went in search of a winner.
And despite sharing the spoils, Sigurdsson took encouragement from the Swans' performance.

"The game could have gone either way at the end but I think it was a fair result," said Sigurdsson, who links up Iceland for their Euro qualifiers next week.
"After recent performances we were desperate to get three points today.
"They had a few counter attacks where they could have stolen the win but we need to manage the games a little better.
"We started the season really well but we have not been like ourselves the last three or four performances.
"We have dropped points, which is going to happen in the season, and there is still a long way to go but if we play our style of football we will be in the top half of the table.
"We go away now for the international break but we can build on today's game and performance to keep the momentum going."
