Swans draw Gillingham in cup

7th January
First team

Swansea City have been handed a home tie against League One side Gillingham in the FA Cup fourth round.

The Gills beat Cardiff City in the third round at the weekend, and are managed by former Swans loanee Steve Lovell, who will face his hometown club.

Graham Potter's side booked their place in the fourth round courtesy of a 3-0 win at fellow Championship club Aston Villa last weekend.

Now they will take on the Gills in SA1 on the weekend of Saturday, January 26.

As a result, the Swans' Championship tie with Birmingham City at the Liberty will now be moved to a new date. Full details of that fixture amendment will be announced soon.

The Jack Army have fond memories of the previous encounter with Gillingham as the Swans earned promotion from League One thanks to a Guillem Bauza brace in a 2-1 win at the Priestfield Stadium in April, 2008.
