Swans to face Everton in PL Cup semi-finals

24th April

Premier League 2 champions Everton have been confirmed as Swansea City Under-23s’ Premier League Cup semi-final opponents at the Liberty Stadium next week.

The young Swans will welcome the Toffees to SA1 on Saturday, May 4 after they beat Blackburn Rovers 2-1 in the quarter-finals last night.

First-half goals from Bassala Sambou and Josh Bowler did the trick at Goodison Park, where Everton maintained their unbeaten run in this season’s Premier League Cup to book their place in the last four.

The young Toffees are on course for the league-and-cup double after securing the Premier League 2 Division 1 title with victory over Brighton & Hove Albion last week.

Meanwhile, the Swans are aiming to reach the final of this competition for a third consecutive year, having lifted the trophy in 2017 before finishing as runners-up to Aston Villa 12 months later.

Everton were narrow 1-0 winners when the sides met at the Liberty in February.

The latest showdown will kick off at 12pm and will be streamed LIVE on swanseacity.com.
