Swans' Family Fun day proves big hit with Junior Jacks
Young Swans fans turned out in force for the club’s Family Fun Day which saw Junior Jacks watch the squad train at the Liberty Stadium.
The event, set up specially for our Junior Jack members, allowed our young supporters the opportunity to see Graham Potter prepare his squad for Saturday’s Championship clash with Preston during an open training session.
Potter and his players then signed autographs and posed for photos with fans before another meet and great session was held in the Sinclair Suite at the stadium.
A free fun fair with rides, giant slide, trampolines, speed cage and barbecue food stations at the stadium were also provided by the club for our young fans, who also collected their Junior Jacks membership packs.
And it proved a great day for all concerned.
“This is an important event for the club because the supporters – particularly the young ones – are a massive part of Swansea City,” said Potter.
“For the new staff like myself and players, it gives us an opportunity to meet the fans and to feel their level of support for the club.
“In my short time here I can already feel the importance of the football club to the community, and vice versa.
“So it’s great for us all to come together and for our Junior Jacks to see the players train and then meet them afterwards.
“It’s a moment I’m sure they will remember for some time.”
Swans assistant manager Billy Reid also enjoyed the session, adding: “It was a fantastic event and it was great to see so many young supporters who are passionate about Swansea City.
“There is a great buzz around the club at the moment – everyone is smiling after last weekend’s win at Sheffield United while the weather was fantastic today, so it made for a great day.
“Speaking to the players afterwards, they all enjoyed it and judging by the reaction of everyone in attendance they enjoyed it too.”
