Angel Rangel insists the Swans are determined to back up victory at Crystal Palace by banking some home points on Sunday against Newcastle United (4pm).

The Swans recorded their first win of the campaign at Selhurst Park before the international break, with Tammy Abraham and Jordan Ayew securing three points for Paul Clement’s side.

Now they host Newcastle at the Liberty, with the Swans looking to get off the mark on home soil following defeat to Manchester United in their sole game in SA1.

“We have made a decent start to the season, but we want to get some points on the board at home,” said Rangel.

“The defeat to Manchester United was a disappointing result, and after a fantastic result at Palace we want to back that up with a performance and three points at the Liberty against Newcastle.

“At the end of last season we won six of our last eight home games, so we know we can make the Liberty a fortress.

“The fans will be buzzing with excitement after the signings of Renato Sanches and Wilfried Bony, so hopefully we will be on seven points at the end of the day.”
