Swans 'Go West' with a smile

Swans boss Michael Laudrup will 'Go West' this weekend "more than happy" with the way his squad is shaping up for the new campaign.
Swansea's pre-season preparations will continue with friendlies at Yeovil on Friday night (7.30pm) and Exeter City on Sunday (3pm).
"I am more than happy with the way things are progressing,'' declared Laudrup. "We will go into the season with a strong 22 or 23-man squad to compete on both the league and cup fronts.
"They all worked extremely hard during the training camp in Holland and have continued that theme back home in Swansea this week.
"There is a lot of competition for places in the squad and if we can keep everyone together then our target in the Premier League will be eighth to 12th place. That's still going to be very difficult, but we will give it our best shot.''
Laudrup will make the trip to the West Country tomorrow without record signing Wilfried Bony who has been given extra time off at home while his work permit is processed. It is hoped the striker will join the squad next week ahead of the final friendly at Reading on Saturday, July 27 (3pm)
Defender Chico Flores also has a slight leg injury and will remain behind for treatment.
Laudrup also confirmed he was still in the hunt for an additional striker, but ruled out the recent link with Wigan's Franco Di Santo.
"We are looking for a striker with different characteristics,'' he confirmed. "But no doubt we will be linked with a lot more over the coming weeks.''
The squad will remain in the West Country over the weekend and train on the Saturday before taking on Exeter on Sunday.
Exeter City Chief Executive Julian Tagg praised the Swans for allowing the Grecians to keep all the gate receipts from the game, while urging fans to come along to enjoy the match and help the club financially.
In normal circumstances, it is commonplace for teams to share the proceeds of the gate in cup and friendly fixtures.  However in this instance, Swansea have allowed Exeter to keep the gate takings - therefore meaning that every pound that is paid on the day will be of benefit to the club.
The Swans avoided relegation out of the Football League ten years ago by the narrowest margin, but the Grecians dropped into the Conference on the final day of the season instead. 
"We're hugely grateful to Swansea - not only for agreeing to put on an exhibition here at St James Park, but also for allowing us to use this as a much-needed fundraiser for our football club,'' said Tagg.
"Thanks to Swansea's generosity, all Exeter fans that come to the game will not only be treated to a chance to see Swansea's superstars, but also to help out their own club financially in what we all recognise as challenging times.  This shows an understanding and camaraderie between two clubs that had contrasting emotions at the end of that mutually gruelling campaign ten years ago.
"Swansea have been a shining light in the past few seasons in terms of their ability to play the game in an attractive style and they have reaped the rewards by winning matches in that way.
"So this is a real marquee friendly fixture for us, to see such talented individuals and such a brilliant brand of football that Swansea can offer, and a true great of world football in their manager Michael Laudrup."

Supporters are encouraged to buy tickets directly from Yeovil Town for the game at Huish Park.
Tickets are priced: Adults £15; Concessions - over 65 and 16-21 £10; Under-16s £5 and can be ordered by calling the Glovers' ticket office on 01935 847888.

Swans fans can pay on the day at Exeter.
Tickets are priced: Standing - (St James Road Away Terrace); Adults £12; Over-60s £6; Student/Under-18s £2.

Wheelchair supporters
There are three places available in the away disabled bay. Fans should book these in advance and to do this should contact main reception on 01392 411243 or by email at reception@exetercityfc.co.uk.
On match day these tickets can be collected from reception. The price is £6 (or £2 if a student or Under 18) with an assistant receiving a free ticket

Ambulant disabled
Ambulant disabled fans are advised to book in advance again via reception. The price is the age related price with an assistant receiving a free ticket.
