Swans jet off to Holland

3rd July

The Swans took in their final training session on home soil this morning before heading out to Holland for their four-game tour.
Michael Laudrup's squad were put through their paces at the club's new Landore training complex before jetting out to their base in The Hague ahead of friendly matches against FC Gravenzande, Excelsior Maassluis, NAC Breda and ADO Den Haag.
It is a key part of the club's preparations, and one in which allows the new signings to bond with their team-mates.
For Fitness and Conditioning Coach Oscar Garcia, it is a vital phase in ensuring the squad is fully prepared for a campaign which will also include Europa League commitments following the club's victorious Capital One Cup campaign.

"The pre-season programme is obviously very important to every club," said Garcia. "This season it is even more important for us because we have to be ready for the Europa League matches before the Premier League season kicks off.
"The players have reported back in good shape, as expected, but now it's a case of building up their enduring and basic strength.
"While away in Holland we will train twice a day on some occasions. Morning sessions will allow us to put in some physical work while afternoon sessions will be more tactical.
"So it is ideal preparation for us."
