Swans Ladies duo's Wales call up

16th January

Swansea City Ladies duo Emma Beynon and Katy Hosford have been called up for Wales Women's training camp in preparation for the Cyprus Cup.
Manager Jayne Ludlow has included the pair as part of only four players chosen from the Welsh Premier Women's League.
Beynon and Hosford are no strangers to the international stage, with the duo representing their country from under-16 to under-19 level.
Beynon, who has scored seven goals for the Swans Ladies this season, feels her performances for Swansea have been pivotal to her inclusion.
"Personally, I'm very happy with my own performances this season, and I've put a lot of extra work in too so it's great to see that paying off," she said.
"I've played under Jayne in the intermediate teams so I know what she's all about in terms of professionalism and what she expects, so I'm really looking forward to it."
Hosford, meanwhile, is looking forward to the training camp as Wales step up preparations for the Cyprus Cup which sees 12 teams from around the globe compete in the annual tournament staged between March 1-8.

"It feels amazing to be invited to the training camp. It has all come around really quickly and I'm really grateful to have been given the opportunity," said the 19-year-old.
"It's going to be an intense week of training and games but I feel I will really benefit from the experience and it will help me develop as an individual.
"It's always good to bring what you learn on camp back to your club and I'm hoping I will be able to contribute this for the rest of the season."
