Swans Ladies host inaugural awards ceremony

7th June

Swansea City Ladies celebrated a successful 2015-16 campaign at their annual end-of-season awards ceremony last weekend.
Held at the Village Hotel in Swansea and hosted by Kevin Johns MBE, the event celebrated the Ladies' 2015-16 WPWL League Cup triumph and second place finish in the Welsh Premier Women's League.
Swansea City Ladies Reserves also toasted an impressive maiden campaign, in which they completed a fine double of the West Wales Women and Girls' League and League Cup.
"Tonight is a great way to celebrate this season's achievements," said Ladies first-team manager Ian Owen. "All of the award winners thoroughly deserved their acknowledgments.
"We'd like to thank the sponsors, Mr Flag and Bob Waygood and Trish Turner from the FAW for presenting some of the awards at the ceremony."
Swans skipper Alicia Powe, who scooped the first-team player of the season award, added: "The presentation was a great way to end the season; a fantastic night celebrating a successful year for the first team and the reserves."
Midfielder Emma Beynon was awarded the first-team top goal scorer award after she netted 16 goals in all competitions throughout the 2015-16 campaign, while Alicia Powe and Katy Hosford shared the first team Player of the Season accolade.
Powe, Sarah Adams, Jodie Passmore and Lindsay Morgan were also awarded Long Service Awards for their outstanding dedication to the club.
