Swans Ladies midfielder Emma Beynon earns first Welsh cap

9th March

Swansea City Ladies midfielder Emma Beynon received her first senior international cap after representing Wales Women in their final game of the Cyprus Cup.
Earning her debut on International Women's Day, the 21-year-old played the first 45 minutes for Wales against Scotland in a battle for fifth place at the Tasos Marko Stadium.
After finishing 0-0, Wales lost6-5 on penalties, but the result didn't dampen Beynon's spirits.

"I'm over the moon to get my first senior cap for Wales in Cyprus," said Beynon, who has worked her way through the various youth levels to earn her place in Jayne Ludlow's side.
"Walking out with the girls is just a feeling you can't really describe.
"Having progressed through the younger years, the main goal was always to get a senior cap. I've learned so much out here from watching the girls play and playing in the game against Scotland. It's been a very good experience and hopefully I can take what I've learned out here back with me when I'm playing for the Swans.
"Now I want to keep pushing on to get a few more games in the future."
Beynon will now link back up with Swans Ladies as they continue their bid for the WPWL title and secure Champions League football.
