Swans Ladies progress in FAW Women's Cup

Swansea City Ladies progressed to the quarter-finals of the 2016/17 FAW Women's Cup thanks to a 3-0 victory over Barry Town United Ladies at Jenner Park on Sunday. 
The Swans started the game with good intensity as midfielder Emma Beynon saw an effort cleared out of the box by Barry's defence before captain Alicia Powe's header cannoned off the crossbar. 
Swans Ladies took the lead inside ten minutes with top scorer Stacey John netting from close range with a low shot into the bottom left hand corner. 
Swansea's Jodie Passmore showed some impressive attacking play and carved out a host of chances in front of goal as the Swans doubled their lead in the 23rd minute through Jodie Passmore's headed effort. 
Passmore had an opportunity to score her second just after the half hour mark only for the midfielders' shot to narrowly missed the target.
Swansea had many chances to extend their lead throughout the second half, with attempts from Passmore, Beynon and Hancocks going wide before a chance from John was denied by Barry's keeper. 
Stacey John sealed the win for the Swans in the 68th minute as the striker netted her second of the game from close range to take her goal tally for the season to 11. 
The Swans continued to create chances in the final minutes of the match, with a curling effort from Hancocks denied by Barry's keeper.
After the match, scorer Stacey John explained "I think we played some really good football at a consistent, high standard"
"It feels really good to be in the next round of the Cup and to keep pushing on with the season." she added.
