Swans legends set to take part in charity match

16th May

Swansea City legends will take to the pitch in aid of charity on Saturday night (May 17, 7pm).

Set to take place at The Gnoll in Neath, former goalkeeper Roger Freestone will be joined by the likes of John Cornforth, Andy Legg and Mark Clode in a Swans Legends team managed by Brian Flynn to raise money for Swans4Cancer, a fundraising group organised by Swans supporters.

The legends team will go up against a Swans4Cancer eleven featuring former Swansea RFC and Wales stars James Griffiths and Tony Clement, as well as Justin Davies from hit TV series 'Stella', in a side managed by Swans Vice Chairman Leigh Dineen.

The charity Swans4Cancer was set up by a group of Swansea City supporters who have all been affected by the disease, with all money raised going towards Cancer Research UK and Macmillan.

Tickets for the event will cost £5 for adults and £3 for concessions for seats, while standing areas will be priced at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.

Tickets will be on sale from Derricks in Swansea or The Gnoll in Neath.

Alternatively, supporters can contact the group through Facebook or Twitter.

Meanwhile, supporters heading to the The Gnoll on Saturday are advised that tickets for next month's Sellebrity Soccer SwansAid charity match will be available for purchase at the venue from 5pm.
