Swans in safe hands with chairman Huw

6th June

It looks as if Swansea City is in safe hands in more ways than one after Swans chairman Huw Jenkins swapped the pressures of the boardroom for the green, green grass of the Liberty Stadium pitch in aid of charity.
Huw took his place in goal for the recent celebrity football match as stars from TV, music and sport came together to raise money for the club's SwansAid charity.
The chairman donned the goalkeeping gloves for Eastenders star Adam Woodyatt's side in the first half and was greeted with huge cheers from the 10,567 crowd as he made a number of impressive saves.
But despite conceding five goals in the opening period, Swans boss Garry Monk won't have to look far if he is ever in need of an SOS goalkeeper, despite the fact that Huw wasn't overly impressed with the defensive cover in front of him.
"What defence?" he joked after the game. "But we had to make it a good game and I had to let a few in so the crowd had plenty of goals to enjoy."
Adam Woodyatt's side eventually beat Danny Dyer's celebrity team 14-12 as the goals flew in from the likes of Nathan Cleverly, Franky Fryer, Lee Trundle, Junior Harvey, Shayne Ward, Anthony Costa, Dan Osbourne, Woodyatt and Dyer...to name but a few.
We'll bring you all the action from the game during the pre-season break, but here is the Swans chairman in acrobatic style to start.
In the meantime, the challenge is now on for fellow Premier League chairmen to display their own prowess on the pitch!
