Swans secure Hanley signing

30th January

Swansea City have completed the signing of promising young talent Raheem Hanley after the 19-year-old left Blackburn Rovers last week.

The young starlet, who can operate in the centre of midfield or at left back, becomes the third new arrival of this month's transfer window, putting pen to paper on a deal that secures his future with the club until at least June 2015.

Hanley, who has earned recognition at international level with England Under-19s, has been identified as one for the future and will link up with Kristian O'Leary's youth setup.

The new Swans starlet had quickly risen through the ranks at Blackburn Rovers, progressing through from the Under-18s to be on the fringes of the first-team with a couple of unused substitute appearances to his name.

Hanley was a key figure in the Blackburn Rovers team who reached the FA Youth Cup final in 2012.

The youngster followed that success up with a strong season for Rovers' Under-21s side in 2012-13 and made a total of 12 appearances for their development setup this season.
