Swans stars make it a dream day for young fan

Swans stars helped make it a dream day for young supporter Nathan Jones at Fairwood Training Ground on Wednesday.

The likes of Ashley Williams, Wilfried Bony, Nathan Dyer, Neil Taylor and Jonathan de Guzman all took time out after training to meet Nathan and his younger brother, Dominic, to talk football and pose for photos.

The 14-year-old, who was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (an aggressive type of bone cancer) in July 2013, started chemotherapy at Cardiff Childrens Hospital in August 2013, where he braved the course in preparation for limb-sparing surgery to remove the tumour in his left leg.

Unfortunately, it was later discovered that the tumour was involving the nerves of his leg, which meant that Nathan had to to undergo an above knee leg amputation in November - the day after his 14th birthday.

And after enduring further cycles of chemotherapy since his operation, Nathan aspires to work in football in the future.

Born in Carmarthen but now living in London, Nathan is still an avid Swans fan and will be cheering on his heroes when they face Southampton at the Liberty on Saturday (3pm).
