Swansea City will show its support for Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign during this evening’s Championship fixture with Fulham at the Liberty.

Tonight’s game has been designated as the fixture in which we highlight our support for LGBT fans, players and staff across the game with Swans captain Matt Grimes wearing a rainbow-coloured armband. Meanwhile, we will also be using rainbow-coloured substitution boards and corner flags, while clubs will have a special pennant to mark the campaign.

This year, Stonewall aim to:

  • Inspire sport fans and participants with the stories of LGBT people in sport and the allies who work hard to make sport everyone’s game;
  • Educate everyone about what it’s like to be LGBT in sport and the challenges people face;
  • Encourage people to take action, whether that’s buying and wearing Rainbow Laces; getting their friends, family, work, or sport team to Come Out Active and raise funds for LGBT equality; or by calling for an end to the discrimination LGBT people face in sport.

Together we can make sport everyone's game. Play your part.
