Swansea City is pleased to announce a first official club partnership with Swansea University as the ‘Official Back of Shirt Sponsor’ and ‘Higher Education Partner’ for the 2018-19 season.

Building on a long-standing working relationship across many areas of both businesses, the new partnership brings it all together in an all-encompassing agreement.

Swansea University’s logo will be prominent on the back of the club’s new home and away shirt for the duration of the Championship season, as well as the back of the academy and Swans Ladies team shirts.

Swansea University will also continue their sponsorship of the Liberty Stadium’s West Stand for the full campaign, reinforcing their commitment from three seasons ago. They will also become strategically involved with Swans TV Live, the club’s new live match streaming platform this season.

Swansea City COO, Chris Pearlman, said: “We’ve historically enjoyed a great working relationship with the university and I am proud we are able to take it to the next level.

“We not only share facilities (Fairwood), expertise (coaches) and core audience (supporters), but also the same values and vision. By formally joining forces with this new agreement, we are now able to amplify this.

“As two of the most recognisable institutions and contributors to the Swansea economy, I hope it is the start of synergising our continued work in putting Swansea on the map.”

Mark Davies, the Swans’ global head of partnerships and sales, added: “Aligning the club with experts in their relative fields is very important. By partnering with Swansea University we have found the perfect fit for what we are trying to work towards here at the club.

“We know Swansea University prides itself on first-class facilities and the ability to offer students much more than just a campus. The club and stadium fit the criteria perfectly as a living example of a progressive Swansea with a lot to offer everyone.’’

Andrew Rhodes, COO at Swansea University (pictured with Chris Pearlman), said: “For Swansea University, this is much more than a sponsorship deal – it’s a partnership that supports our community and will help us continue to raise our profile as a leading UK and global university.

“We are very pleased to be at the forefront of SwansTV Live for the season ahead and this overall partnership with Swansea City has provided us with an outstanding opportunity to promote the university and enhance our sports offering to our students from around the world.”

Swansea University has achieved a gold star rating, the highest ranking position in the National Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework.
