Swans trio included in preliminary World Cup squads

Swans trio Jonathan de Guzman, Michel Vorm and Wilfried Bony have been included in their nations' preliminary World Cup squads, ahead of this summer's tournament in Brazil.

Dutchmen de Guzman and Vorm have been included in Holland's initial 30-man squad, while Wilfried Bony is one of 28 names selected by Ivory Coast.

South Korea star Ki Sung-Yueng, who spent the majority of the season on loan at Sunderland, has booked his seat on the plane to Brazil after the midfielder was included in his nation's final 23-man squad.

Ki is set to return to the Swans following his temporary spell in the North East, while de Guzman hopes to join him at the Liberty next season.

The 26-year-old scored seven in 48 appearances in what was his second season-long loan spell with the Swans from La Liga outfit Villarreal.

And de Guzman has revealed he would like to become a permanent part of Garry Monk's plans.

"I'd like to stay," declared the 26-year-old. "I'm happy here.

"I had a good chat with Garry, he knows how I feel about Swansea and my situation here.

"Playing for Swansea, it's a small club, but we're proving people wrong by what we're capable of.

"It's been a long season, with a lot of games and a lot of changes for everyone to deal with.

"Fortunately we finished it off on a good note.

"The main objective was to stay in the league so we get another season in the Premier League. We've done that.

"The Europa League was just a bonus for us, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

"It was fantastic playing against different teams from different leagues and travelling as well.

"We have had to play a lot of games and it took time to get used to, with different games coming every week.

"But at the end of the day we stuck together and got the job done."

"I've found a home here and it feels good.

"The people have been great to me in the city itself. It's a warm place to be."
