SwansAid Applications Now Open

25th September

SwansAid is back this autumn for another round of grant giving.
With applications opening yesterday, organisations, charities and clubs that support and encourage children, young people or those with disabilities to get involved in sport, are urged to apply if they need funding to help their project.
Since its introduction in September 2013, the Club's grant giving pot has donated over £100,000 to an array of organisations and applications are now open until November 26th.
From trampolining to surfing, from cricket to cycling and from PTAs to football, SwansAid funds have been awarded to a variety of projects and yours could be next.
Twice a season, SwansAid awards grants totalling up to £25,000, not to mention sports kits for an array of teams, but this autumn the format has changed to now include a £5,000 award specifically for organisations that are making a concentrated effort to improve opportunities for disabled people to be active. This grant will be available once a year in the autumn round of funding.

Organisations can now apply for a grant in one of three separate categories, which are:

•         Up to £2,000 (five grants available)

•         Up to £5,000 - Disability/Inclusion Grant (one available)

•         Up to £10,000 (one available)

Additionally, all SwansAid kit awards have been moved to the spring round of applications.
"This is a great opportunity for local charities and organisations that support the young and the disabled in sport, to obtain much needed funds to enhance their offerings and help even more people," said Head of the Community Trust, Linden Jones.
"In the past we've granted money to a broad range of organisations from football clubs to PTAs, and from gymnastic and circus clubs to disability leagues, so no matter what sport it is your project delivers, we urge you to check your eligibility and apply," he added.
So if your group operates within Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, and you work with children, young people or disabled people, then you may be eligible to apply.
