SwansAid receives travel club donation

10th February

SwansAid received a welcome boost after Swansea City Travel Club donated a generous £50,000 to the Community Trust fund.

The club's official travel club, which is run by volunteering Swans supporters, provides coach transport for fellow fans to-and-from away games up and down England and Wales.

After providing such a fantastic service for travelling Jacks, the travel club went a step further by donating a substantial cheque to SwansAid with the money that has been raised over recent years.

SwansAid was set up in August 2013 by Swansea City's Community Trust to help fund special projects and local community groups.

The money donated by the Swansea City Travel Club will help towards addressing the issues, needs and aspirations of communities within West Wales.

Swansea City Vice-Chairman Leigh Dineen, who chairs the board of trustees at SwansAid, was keen to express his gratitude to the travel club for their kind gesture.

"On behalf of SwansAid, I would like to thank Julie and Ugo Vallario, their volunteers and the members of the travel club for their generous donation." said Dineen.

"The money they have donated will benefit many local community groups and projects within West Wales."
